Looks like it has been almost a year since my last post. Blogger has gone thru changes since then so we’ll see if I can successfully add some photos and get this short update posted. </p><p>I’ve had several finishes over the past year but I’m only going to post my latest finish for now. I started this piece in 2018, finished with the actual stitching at the close of 2019, and *finally* got around to FFO earlier this month. It is my first bellpull finish. All finishing stitching was done by hand. I’ve got to get over my sewing machine phobia! Overall I’m quite pleased with how it turned out. I stitched it for a friend and she was very surprised and grateful when I gave it to her last weekend.</p><p><br /></p><p>Little House Needleworks Winter ABC’s.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--1kNfda9w18/YFnPBUaCFAI/AAAAAAAACY8/v5HGFek7RtYK7Ynh6ecegmyQohe0S5muwCNcBGAsYHQ/s2048/B9336BF9-47C6-445C-B831-D9F131DA6B42.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/--1kNfda9w18/YFnPBUaCFAI/AAAAAAAACY8/v5HGFek7RtYK7Ynh6ecegmyQohe0S5muwCNcBGAsYHQ/s320/B9336BF9-47C6-445C-B831-D9F131DA6B42.jpeg" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UQBhxzwtgpM/YFnO-nbSUrI/AAAAAAAACZA/biaY0otm83AyGBIaXZtmmzw5R-z43QyRQCPcBGAYYCw/s2048/0D8A2E48-F335-4551-A9CF-6D8EA1415347.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-UQBhxzwtgpM/YFnO-nbSUrI/AAAAAAAACZA/biaY0otm83AyGBIaXZtmmzw5R-z43QyRQCPcBGAYYCw/s320/0D8A2E48-F335-4551-A9CF-6D8EA1415347.jpeg" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-izYKYmpSpc8/YFnPAUAVomI/AAAAAAAACZE/JukHh4s5gWAEiHZq-ttpj-uO_pWQBdYvQCPcBGAYYCw/s2048/3B8AA4AC-7477-492F-BAC1-AABE0680C3E3.jpeg" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1536" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-izYKYmpSpc8/YFnPAUAVomI/AAAAAAAACZE/JukHh4s5gWAEiHZq-ttpj-uO_pWQBdYvQCPcBGAYYCw/s320/3B8AA4AC-7477-492F-BAC1-AABE0680C3E3.jpeg" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div>Donna G.http://www.blogger.com/profile/06780528352071991523noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8324655679758911618.post-69107331400206435542020-05-25T06:08:00.000-07:002020-05-25T06:08:57.851-07:00StitchMaynia - End of Week 3/Beginning of Week 4A real quick post on my StitchMaynia progress as of the end of last week. For Iris, I want to work on the leaf/bud that I have started to the right of the completed right-hand leaf. I already have the greens stitched. I need to stitch the white and purples of the bud.</div>

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
After one week of stitching, here are photos of my progress. “Sparrow” was a WIP that I have been working on from time to time over the past 3-4 years. In the past week, I stitched a few motifs and finished the words “His eye is on”. A couple of the motifs are not complete as I am waiting on some overdyed floss. My goal for the coming week is to stitch “the sparrow” along with a few more of the smaller sized motifs.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This Sajou iris pattern was a new start. I made pretty good progress on the middle greenery section. My goal for the coming week is to continue with the greens, completing the greenery that shoots off to the right.</div>
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also have another pattern to give away. The pattern this week is a Poinsettia candle mat by Prairie Grove Peddler. Leave a comment to be entered. I have been seeing where some folks have been having problems with not being able to comment on blogs. If you are unable to comment on my blog, you can also enter the giveaway by sending me an email. You can email me through the link on my profile. Put “blog comment” in the subject line.</div>

I am also going to be working on this very neglected WIP. I started it a few years ago but have not made much progress. My goal is to stitch on it every day during StitchMaynia......Heartstring Samplery’s His Eye Is On The Sparrow. It is by far the largest design that I have ever stitched. <br />

I’m not sure when I will get around to the FFO.<br />
It has been a long time since I have stitched a sampler. It has also been awhile since I have stitched a piece using only one color of floss.<br />
<br />
I have lots of framed samplers lining the wall of my stairway. Not sure if I will frame this one or make it into a pillow/pincushion.<br />

I think I brought home a nice haul. I sure don’t want my stash to get depleted. (Insert lots of canned laughter here.) 😂😂😂😂😂😂</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I have been weeding through my stash. I’ve listed several patterns that I’m getting rid of on the Patterns For Sale page. Take a look to see if there is anything you need. Prices do include postage and if you want several things, I’ll combine postage to save you some 💲💲💲. Don’t like the prices, then make me an offer. Just leave a comment on the Sale page if you are interested in anything.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I also FFO’d a couple of things today but am going to save that for another post.</div>

It is more of a “working” trip than a “shopping for stitch stash” trip. My friend, <a href="https://www.etsy.com/shop/HeartstringSamplery">Beth Twist of Heartstring Samplery,</a> is an Exhibitor at Galleria so I will be helping her. I may be able to work in a little bit of shopping. 😋 It has been several years since I last attended Needlework Galleria so I’m looking forward to the trip.<br />
<br />
Guess what I finally found??? The “lost” Little House Needleworks pattern that I had planned to give away last week. I knew that it would eventually show up if I kept looking for it; and it did!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XurtMtzagQA/XX6jzg-7imI/AAAAAAAACGE/20o9-D_SGGMxQuyo238kcInkf3mc-qQmQCNcBGAsYHQ/s1600/645B62A2-F35E-4E41-9682-9BD2BCD9229B.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1199" height="320" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-XurtMtzagQA/XX6jzg-7imI/AAAAAAAACGE/20o9-D_SGGMxQuyo238kcInkf3mc-qQmQCNcBGAsYHQ/s320/645B62A2-F35E-4E41-9682-9BD2BCD9229B.jpeg" width="239" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
I won this pattern in a giveaway that <a href="http://astitchersstory.blogspot.com/">Vickie at A Stitcher’s Story</a> had earlier this year. I got it stitched quick so I could display it for the 4th of July. Here is my finish.<br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
If you would like to win this pattern, you need to be a blog follower and leave a comment telling me if you have ever attended Needlework Galleria. I will do a random draw next Sunday, Sept 22 to pick a winner. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
If you are going to Needlework Galleria this week, be sure to drop by the Heartstring Samplery room to tell me “hi” and to see all the pretties that Beth will be selling.</div>

<br />
So, I let random.org tell me if Meg (#1) or Southpaw Stitcher (#2) was the winner. Here is the results.....<br />

Congrats to Southpaw Stitcher. I will be emailing you shortly. <br />
<br />
Keep an eye out for another giveaway later this week. I have a Little House Needleworks chart to give away. I was the winning recipient of it from a blog giveaway earlier this year. It was a fairly quick stitch so I am ready to pass the chart on to someone else. More details in a few days.<br />

So, here goes.<br />
<br />
I have had this Trail Creek Farm freebie pattern for years. I’ve been weeding through my patterns and getting rid of those that I know I will never stitch. When I came across this pattern, I decided that it looked like a really quick stitch so I threw it on top of my “to stitch” pile. I started it yesterday using 32 count French Lace linen and the called for GAST threads. <br />
<br />

<br />
<br />
I finished stitching this afternoon. I knew that I had NO intentions of trying to make the star-shaped pillow as shown on the pattern. I looked for a small square frame in my frame stash but didn’t have anything small enough. Then the lightbulb came on! 💡 I remembered that I had bought a small tin ornament frame years ago at a stitch retreat. Perfect!!!<br />

If so you are probably aware of the big hoopla that started today......Stitch Maynia 2019. Never heard of Stitch Maynia? There are so many different takes on Stitch Maynia (and I have my own) that I will just tell you to Google it if you want to know more about it. <br />
<br />
Some stitchers are starting a new project every day during the month of May. I've seen where some stitchers are scaling that number back by about half. I decided that I would start 1 new project this month for Stitch Maynia 2019. I also have a few other Stitch Maynia goals. Here they are:<br />
<br />
#1 - Start one new project. The pattern that I picked is May Pocket Calendar Cover by The Drawn Thread. I do not plan on making it into a pocket calendar cover once it has been stitched. I will either frame it or make it into a pillow. It calls for Needlepoint, Inc. Silk thread but I am using DMC. It also calls for 32-count "Water Lily" Wichelt-Permin Linen. I had Water Lily in my fabric stash but it was 28-count so that is what I am using.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
#2 - Finish these two pieces into pincushions.<br />
<br />
<span style="background-color: white; color: black; display: inline; float: none; font-family: "times new roman"; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;">Isn't this cute? I stitched this several years ago and have no clue who the designer is or the name of the design. It is stitched on linen</span><b></b><i></i><u></u><strike></strike><br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is a Primitive Hare design. Another piece that was stitched years ago and just laying in a drawer waiting for the finishing fairy to arrive. This pattern may have been a "freebie"....not sure. As you can see in the bottom photo, I will need to add a piece of scrap homespun or flannel fabric in bottom left corner. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
#3 - Frame this piece. I think the designer is The Goode Huswife. I stitched it 1-2 years ago. Yellow overdyed sampler thread on a denim linen. I have a frame; however, I want to paint it as I do not like the stain that is currently on the frame. I will be framing this myself instead of hiring it out.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pw41rkx74Qs/XMnvgP3xKZI/AAAAAAAAB90/_Xh6dmMDEiUXtIKfByYgUHna3THEAiYcgCPcBGAYYCw/s1600/04A6B523-EAA9-4759-8BE1-05C05311A157.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-pw41rkx74Qs/XMnvgP3xKZI/AAAAAAAAB90/_Xh6dmMDEiUXtIKfByYgUHna3THEAiYcgCPcBGAYYCw/s400/04A6B523-EAA9-4759-8BE1-05C05311A157.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
#4 - Work on these WIPs<br />
<br />
I started this Plum Street Samplers design several months ago. My Stitch Maynia goal for this piece is to complete the stitching. I don't have a lot left to do.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-C0f8uVLAHcg/XMnwtj9BcnI/AAAAAAAAB_U/TlOCTjhygCoP97wAFFHo8UtixuJjLHagACPcBGAYYCw/s1600/E219D8D2-742E-49C4-8895-E07758424C33.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-C0f8uVLAHcg/XMnwtj9BcnI/AAAAAAAAB_U/TlOCTjhygCoP97wAFFHo8UtixuJjLHagACPcBGAYYCw/s400/E219D8D2-742E-49C4-8895-E07758424C33.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
I started stitching the border of Heartstring Samplery's His Eye is On the Sparrow at least 3 years ago and I don't think I even put one stitch in during 2018. As you can see I have almost 3/4 of the border done. My Stitch Maynia goal is to finish the border. I think I can reach that goal and maybe even stitch a few of the flower motifs that fill out the border. <span style="background-color: white; color: black; display: inline; float: none; font-family: "times new roman"; font-size: 16px; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: 400; letter-spacing: normal; text-align: left; text-decoration: none; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; word-spacing: 0px;"> Keep your fingers crossed that I have not done any miscounting and that my border will match up. </span> If you are not familiar with this design (shame, shame) let me just give you the stitch count.....435x363. Yes, it is huge! And the 28 count "Wren" Picture This Plus linen piece is huge. I stitch in hand so having a large piece of fabric makes for slow stitching. At least it does for me. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CS4tuGOcOsU/XMnvrgm3RkI/AAAAAAAAB-A/kZ8_BICIzxUBQlQMotF7nFUFpm2HsqtTQCPcBGAYYCw/s1600/6A447573-9F21-47F9-8AED-22891FD7ECEC.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-CS4tuGOcOsU/XMnvrgm3RkI/AAAAAAAAB-A/kZ8_BICIzxUBQlQMotF7nFUFpm2HsqtTQCPcBGAYYCw/s400/6A447573-9F21-47F9-8AED-22891FD7ECEC.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div>

<br />
<br />
<br />
Another Heartstring Samplery WIP that I have been working on for awhile is the Spring Flame Pincushion. Until recently it had sat in my WIP pile without getting any attention. A month or so ago I decided to bring it back into my stitching rotation so I have been making progress. Both sides of the pincushion have stitching on them. My Stitch Maynia goal for this design is to complete one side.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-I9n_UmHZWw4/XMnvcl9Ni8I/AAAAAAAAB9w/7lqGPtU5BxofFpK_ozZJuyuFfn-GYyeHQCPcBGAYYCw/s1600/06C21E78-4EE8-46BA-A8A3-AA6B6FC0C5C8.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="300" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-I9n_UmHZWw4/XMnvcl9Ni8I/AAAAAAAAB9w/7lqGPtU5BxofFpK_ozZJuyuFfn-GYyeHQCPcBGAYYCw/s400/06C21E78-4EE8-46BA-A8A3-AA6B6FC0C5C8.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
This design has a small amount of stitching left to be done. The stitching on this piece was done by an elderly friend of mine who passed away several years ago. I "inherited" lots of her stitching stash, including this piece. My Stitch Maynia goal is to complete the stitching and finish it into a small pillow or possibly a framed piece.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bIa0I4HkX9g/XMnvpzObttI/AAAAAAAAB94/BFeT-O7B2YsYq-AM1oX56bJ8jB8CsaJGACPcBGAYYCw/s1600/4013DE29-AEAE-4E6F-B76A-2E0E1535FA7F.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1200" height="400" src="https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-bIa0I4HkX9g/XMnvpzObttI/AAAAAAAAB94/BFeT-O7B2YsYq-AM1oX56bJ8jB8CsaJGACPcBGAYYCw/s400/4013DE29-AEAE-4E6F-B76A-2E0E1535FA7F.jpeg" width="300" /></a></div>
<br />
While going thru my WIP pile, I came across this ornament that I started 3-4 years ago. The design was in the 2015 Just Cross-Stitch Annual Ornament Issue. My Stitch Maynia goal is to complete the stitching and make a hanging ornament similar to what is shown in the photo.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I started this Little House Needleworks Winter ABC's pattern last year. I have made some progress but have not worked on it for several months. My Stitch Maynia goal? I would love to finish it; however, I don't think that will happen with the other projects I'm working on. So my goal is to stitch through the letter 'S'nowman. Hopefully I can get the design stitched and finished in time to display it for Christmas 2019!<br />
<br />

<br />
#5 - Finish this small piece into a hanging pillow. I think this is a Lizzie Kate design. I stitched it awhile ago. If I work on finishing this in the next day or two, I can display it for most of the month of May! <br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Whew! Looks like I got a lot to work on. I probably won't do any further blog posts until early June when I post the results of my Stitch Maynia goals. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Do you have any Stitch Maynia 2019 plans?</div>

Beth is one of the nicest people to work for and I enjoy spending a few days with her each year while she is in town for Market.<br />

Beth always brings "goodies" for me (another post for another day). In addition, she also lets me have any Heartstring Samplery patterns that I want. Here are the patterns that I picked out this year.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PcfokNG-8hA/XL9z3AyLegI/AAAAAAAAB8I/cTp2F82sNzIAQNVcl3KZRaoUXL0jeWX8QCPcBGAYYCw/s1600/02291FA0-F596-4905-B202-A7A62912950E.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1600" data-original-width="1600" height="400" src="https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-PcfokNG-8hA/XL9z3AyLegI/AAAAAAAAB8I/cTp2F82sNzIAQNVcl3KZRaoUXL0jeWX8QCPcBGAYYCw/s400/02291FA0-F596-4905-B202-A7A62912950E.jpeg" width="400" /></a></div>
<br />
(clockwise from top left): C is for Coffee, Coffee Drinker's Confession, Festive Little Fobs Harvest Edition, Coffee Edition, Stitching Edition, The Stitching Life, and The Cat Sampler. Where do I begin? Which pattern is screaming, "Stitch me first!"? <br />
<br />
<br />
Another perk of being Beth's assistant is that I get to do some shopping at Market. This year I tried to maintain control as I HAVE SO MUCH STASH!!!!!!! Here's what I came home with...…..<br />
<br />

However, I decided that the smart thing to do was to focus on only one of the WIPs. Especially since I have 2 or 3 current WIPs that I am also working on (more about those in another post). So the neglected WIP that has been put into active stitching status is Spring Flame Pin Cushion by Heartstring Samplery.<br />
<br />
I started this project in 2015! Here is a photo of the progress that I had made on it as of January 2018 when I laid it aside and didn’t pick it up again until last month.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-q6uFqLb2sAI/XIbmJoIpSyI/AAAAAAAAB5Q/pZtYnh_MjNkfP5eB4r0exDlZUzUWWKVmgCEwYBhgL/s1600/331A1974-7826-4A6C-BD00-D009326A3C5D.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="954" data-original-width="1274" height="239" src="https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-q6uFqLb2sAI/XIbmJoIpSyI/AAAAAAAAB5Q/pZtYnh_MjNkfP5eB4r0exDlZUzUWWKVmgCEwYBhgL/s320/331A1974-7826-4A6C-BD00-D009326A3C5D.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
So let’s take a look at my progress during the past month. Not great, but I have been stitching on a couple of other current things also. The color looks more vibrant in this photo.....thanks to my new iPad.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Sz0ZLt2vqGA/XIbnQCTYqbI/AAAAAAAAB5Y/6HzpEl4vfbgtV5KqAo73SpIDSXYg2BtQwCLcBGAs/s1600/B5623608-5A85-4622-B238-04F473B0F5AD.jpeg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1200" data-original-width="1600" height="240" src="https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-Sz0ZLt2vqGA/XIbnQCTYqbI/AAAAAAAAB5Y/6HzpEl4vfbgtV5KqAo73SpIDSXYg2BtQwCLcBGAs/s320/B5623608-5A85-4622-B238-04F473B0F5AD.jpeg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
What about the other three neglected WIPs? Two of them, La-D-Da and The Hearts Content, will get put into my active stitching pile <u>after</u> I finish the Spring Flame Pin Cushion. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
After much thought, I have decided to abandon the Prairie Grove Peddler Honey Bee candle mat. It has become one of those projects that I liked at one time but now I really don’t care about finishing it. I decided that I have too many WIPs and even more in my "to-stitch stash" to spend time working on something that I no longer want to stitch. I struggled with that decision. I don’t like abandoning projects (or books!) but sometimes that is the best thing to do. What about you? Have you ever abandoned a stitching project?</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I’ll post a progress report on the Spring Flame Pin Cushion at the end of March. I also want to do a post on the 2019 Wholesale Needlework Market that was held in Nashville last weekend. (Can we say “more stash”?) And I need to do a post on the current projects I’m working on. So many blog posts to do, so little time. See ya later.</div>

And how about those 2018 stitching goals?I was going to come out of blog-land hibernation by doing a series of posts on all the WIPs that I have laying around. Some of those projects are laying around close by in the event I want to pick them up and do a few stitches, others are hiding away and haven’t had a stitch made on them in years. Anyhoo, I spent a few moments last night photographing those “close by” WIPs with full intentions of doing a “WIPs, Part One” post today. <br />
<br />
I haven’t had many blog posts in the last year or so but thought I remembered doing a WIPs update. When I looked back at prior posts, I quickly found the one that I was recalling, however, it turned out to be this “2018 stitching projects” <a href="https://cardsbydruth.blogspot.com/2018/01/my-stitching-project-list-for-2018.html">post</a> instead of a WIPs post. Imagine my horror 😦😧😮😲 when I saw that four of the WIPs mentioned in that post, with corresponding photos, had not been TOUCHED at all during 2018. <br />
<br />
I guess there is no reason to post the photos of these WIPs that I took last night since they look the same as the photos in my January 2018 post. As I said “😦😧😮😲”!<br />
<br />
Here are the WIPs from the 2018 post that were neglected for the past year:<br />
La-D-Da - “You & Me”<br />
Heartstring Samplery - “Spring Flame Pincushion”<br />
Prairie Grove Peddler - “Little Candle Mats: Honey Bees”<br />
The Heart’s Content - “Coverlet Series: Splendor IV”<br />
<br />
Shame, shame, shame on me! It’s not like I stopped stitching since I did finish a few of the WIPs shown in the January 2018 post......and even started (and finished!) new projects. <br />
<br />
Hmmmmmm, what am I going to do about it? I resolve to work on these four WIPs on a weekly basis. And I resolve to post an update on these WIPs at the end of February. <br />
<br />
Enough of this blogging, I have some stitching to do! See you in a couple of weeks!<br />

At least 5 years ago I stitched a small piece that required cement glue in the finishing process. CEMENT GLUE - doesn't that sound a little too permanent???? What if I mess up? <span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgba(255, 255, 255, 0);">The finished stitching was going to be glued into a metal coin purse frame. I bought</span> G-S Hypo Cement but procrastinated in finishing.....what if I mess up?????? Did I mention I was using cement glue???? <div><br></div><div>Fast forward a few years. A few weeks ago I decided that I must overcome this finishing phobia. Today was going to be the day! </div><div><br></div><div>Even though the G-S Cement had never been opened, it was dried up when I went to use it. Here is the photo to prove that no matter how much I was squeezing the tube, not one drop of liquid cement was gonna come out! </div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-RJUYk5zO1bQ/W75u-Ju1QdI/AAAAAAAAB3U/ynowYNY8yh8AEpX-aDhjfGtiWoMZerGhQCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image-447796369.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-RJUYk5zO1bQ/W75u-Ju1QdI/AAAAAAAAB3U/ynowYNY8yh8AEpX-aDhjfGtiWoMZerGhQCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image-447796369.jpg"></a></div><br></div><div><br></div><div>So, this project is on hold until I get to Hobby Lobby for more liquid cement. I did stick the stitched piece in the coin purse frame to see how it would look. What do you think? As a member of this club, I get a cross-stitch kit mailed to me every 3 months. The first kit that I received was a pattern designed by Wendy Stys-Van Eimeren of Pineberry Lane. The name of the pattern was Wool and Flax. Sometimes I'm a slow stitcher; however, I was able to get this piece stitched in just over a month. (Note: I'm sure there are stitchers out there who think, "A month????? It took you that long?") I assure you that most of my projects, even simple ones, usually take me longer than a month to complete. But anyhoo, back to the subject at hand. <div><br></div><div>Here is a photo I took a couple of months ago after I had finished stitching the design. Stitching was done on 36 count R&R Reproductions' Liberty Gathering Gray linen using Weeks Dye Works floss.</div><div><br></div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-QBAbGKZpe2c/W3SYIZuHMaI/AAAAAAAAB2s/GdLIMP3asgoOwuJ23jFph7jWLVIk8SdqgCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image--636702586.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-QBAbGKZpe2c/W3SYIZuHMaI/AAAAAAAAB2s/GdLIMP3asgoOwuJ23jFph7jWLVIk8SdqgCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image--636702586.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Doesn't this shepherdess look just like a "quaint country lady"? The instructions called for finishing this piece into a cute little bag. I always get a little antsy when it comes to finishing. I have a fear of messing up something that has taken me hours to cross-stitch. So, stitched projects always get laid aside until I can muster up enough nerve to follow through with the finishing. I finished stitching the design in early June. Today I finally decided to tackle the finishing.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;">Since this was to be finished into a little bag, some sewing was involved. Sewing machines intimidate me so I do all sewing by hand......which takes time.....another reason why I procrastinate! This project came with very detailed finishing instructions. There were 15 steps to complete and I slowly made my way through all 15. I am very pleased with how the finishing turned out. Are you ready to take a look?</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XY3TqMpmc-4/W3SYFSSOTPI/AAAAAAAAB2k/ViKjRWNu2dEIUw1brfsn9uMzGKY97LyhgCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image--2046994908.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XY3TqMpmc-4/W3SYFSSOTPI/AAAAAAAAB2k/ViKjRWNu2dEIUw1brfsn9uMzGKY97LyhgCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image--2046994908.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-f-yQP8SoKRg/W3SYG5QWW8I/AAAAAAAAB2o/MtqqIOJavpIJqVstounprOcTx2Cnyjc6wCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image--1647293284.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-f-yQP8SoKRg/W3SYG5QWW8I/AAAAAAAAB2o/MtqqIOJavpIJqVstounprOcTx2Cnyjc6wCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image--1647293284.jpg"></a></div><br></div>Pretty cute, isn't it? I thought the 4th would be a good time to revive this blog by showing off some July-themed cross-stitch. Here is a not-so-great photo of a little vignette in my foyer. Keep reading for better photos and details of the stitched pieces.</div>

This little piece is an old Lizzy Kate Flip-It that I stitched over 10 years ago. I stitched all 12 months and had a craftier-than-me (she can sew, I can't!) friend finish them with coordinating fabric hangers. This hangs in my living room on an antique wash stand.</div>

I attended another Fancy Works stitch retreat earlier this year. I didn't take any classes but I did participate in a patriotic pin cushion exchange. This is the pin cushion that I received in the exchange. The lady who stitched this adorable pin cushion told me the name of the designer but I failed to make note of it and now I can't remember what she told me. If anyone knows the designer, please leave a comment below.</div>

<u><span style="color: #000120;"><br /></span></u></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="color: #000032;">A fellow blogger, Pat @<a href="https://southpawstitcher.blogspot.com/"> Southpaw Stitcher</a>, recently posted her stitching goals for 2018. Hmmmmm, I thought, that sounds like something I should do. So, without further ado, here are the projects that I will be working on during 2018. Some were started earlier this year, some were started in 2017, and some were started so long ago that I can not even give you an approximate date. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
First up is a project that I just started last week. I came across the pattern while I was looking thru my pattern stash. I knew that it would be a quick and easy stitch. I did deviate from the called-for linen color and thread. I am stitching this piece on 35 count Weeks Dye Works Blue Jeans linen using Curry over-dyed sampler thread. I am almost halfway done already! </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<u></u><span style="color: #000120;"></span><span style="color: #000032;"></span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-wLmPNjf40Ow/WlzoutB_V2I/AAAAAAAABys/LZjM6Pbe5S4FlJqyJ4C8jQpFB_5sPZ6FQCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image-1409039625.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-wLmPNjf40Ow/WlzoutB_V2I/AAAAAAAABys/LZjM6Pbe5S4FlJqyJ4C8jQpFB_5sPZ6FQCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image-1409039625.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Next up is a cute little pattern that was given to me by a sweet friend. A pumpkin-shaped wood frame and 2 wood button embellishments were part of the kit. I started this last fall but it got put aside while I finished up Christmas ornaments (that is another blog post). I resumed stitching just this past weekend and it is also going very quickly. This pattern is being stitched on 36-count linen using most of the called for DMC. I did substitute Dried Thyme sampler thread for DMC on the flower stems/leaves.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
That same sweet friend also gave me this Mill Hill "Cat in the Box" kit. This will be stitched on perforated paper and uses both DMC threads and Mill Hill beads. I have not started stitching this yet but it is on my 2018 stitching goal list!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
This "Me & You" sampler pattern by La-D-Da was started last spring. I am stitching it on 55 count Kingston ivory linen using DMC. Due to the size of the linen, I need bright, natural light while I'm stitching this. I worked on it quite a bit last spring/summer while sitting on the front porch swing; however, with current temps at 20-40 degrees, this project is pretty much on hold until I can sit outside and stitch. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
This project here, Acorn House Pin Drum by Heartstring Samplery, has been getting the most attention over the past few weeks. I started it right before Christmas and I am 80% finished. There is some stitching left to be done at the far left and far right (you can see where I have just started stitching at the far right). Once I finish stitching, I will be making it into a pin drum as shown on the front of the pattern. This will be my second pin drum. This kit was one that I received as a member of Dyeing to Stitch's 2017 Ladies Prim Society. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I have also been working on another project designed by Beth Twist of Heartstring Samplery (she also designed the Acorn House Pin Drum shown above). I started stitching this in August 2015! It kinda got pushed to the back of the WIP stack and stayed there until last month when I decided to start working on it again. I'm stitching on 40 count linen (the pattern called for 32 count) using the called-for Sampler threads.....aren't the vivid colors of the threads absolutely gorgeous? I still have a long way to go on this project. </div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I think I started this candle mat project in December 2016......thinking that I could get it stitched as a quick Christmas gift. Well, let's see. It is now January 2018 and it is only about 20% finished! This design is by Prairie Grove Peddler. I have several of these candle mat patterns; however, this is the first of them that I have started stitching. They would make cute little gifts. I'm stitching on 28 count linen using both DMC and sampler threads.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="color: #000032;">And finally.....I have been working on this (or maybe I should say NOT working on this) since circa 2004. I attended a stitch retreat many moons ago and Maureen Appleton was one of the teachers. She does beautiful work. She had several of her designs on display along with the patterns for sale. This design is the 4th in her Coverlet Series. The pattern calls for the coverlet to be stitched using dark green DMC. I am stitching mine with a dark red DMC (815) on 32 count natural Glenshee Scottish Linen. The stitching is done using 1 strand of DMC over 1 linen thread. It is difficult to show in the photo how tiny this piece will be when completed. While it will be approximately 13 1/2" long, it will only be 1 3/4" high. I had not worked on this project in years; however, I found it in my WIP stash several months ago and have started stitching on it again. It is tedious work so I can only stitch on it a little at a time. We'll see how much I can complete during 2018. </span></div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-a_X2nqHmpas/WlzsSgTlDRI/AAAAAAAABz8/7eKi4T7eNXcKY94DjiYElCTlYHHQU92JQCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image-1877016573.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-a_X2nqHmpas/WlzsSgTlDRI/AAAAAAAABz8/7eKi4T7eNXcKY94DjiYElCTlYHHQU92JQCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image-1877016573.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-OHrdfOse2tA/WlzsWD4SCxI/AAAAAAAAB0E/Y923LK2m9VQij8loIxV4py7mO4wPRJqvwCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image-626060745.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-OHrdfOse2tA/WlzsWD4SCxI/AAAAAAAAB0E/Y923LK2m9VQij8loIxV4py7mO4wPRJqvwCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image-626060745.jpg" /></a></div>
<br />
That concludes my list of 2018 stitching goals. I have left off a few projects that I have in mind as they will be gifts and I do not want to spoil any surprises. I am sure that I will start new projects as I finish those shown above. I'm not much of a consistent blogger but I will try to post updates (maybe quarterly?) to show any progress made on my 2018 stitching goals. <br />

While this is the 11th exchange that Stephanie has organized, it is the first time I have participated. When I signed up, I indicated whether I was interested in a tea cup or mug (I chose mug.) and I also gave some personal information, such as hobbies, favorite color, stuff like that.<br />
<br />
The person that I was assigned to send a mug to was Ida. I found her a cute bird mug and a few other "goodies" and mailed the items off to Walla Walla, WA. If you want to see what she received, you can take a look at her "reveal" blog post <a href="https://wishesdreamsandotherthings.blogspot.com/2017/11/11th-tea-cup-mug-exchange.html">here</a>.<br />

Kris, who blogs at <a href="http://thequiltinggarden.blogspot.com/">Lavender Quilts</a>, had my name assigned to her. Here is a picture of the lovely gifts I received from Kris.........<br />

<div>
<br>
<div>
It is time for<a href="https://stitchingcubbyhole.blogspot.com/2017/11/fnwf.html"> FNwF or Friday Night with Friends</a>. Stitchers from all over the world "get together" on the first Friday of the month for a bit of stitching. It's been a couple of months since I have been able to attend FNwF so I have a few things to show you. At the<a href="http://cardsbydruth.blogspot.com/2017/09/september-fnwf.html"> September FNwF</a>, I was just starting to stitch a fall-themed piece by Little House Needleworks as part of a two-month SAL. I actually finished two fall-themed Little House Needleworks projects during the SAL. So let me show you those.<br>
<div>
<br></div>
<div>
Little House Needleworks Autumn Sampler - I have a small wood tray that I am going to use for "framing" this piece. (Side note - I no longer need this pattern so I am selling it for $5. If you are interested, please leave a comment or email me.)</div><div><br></div>
<div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-hOdhybNgV-A/Wf4zNTpTpxI/AAAAAAAABwY/SvrbzAD6bjA6uJtAQISivZL4xtoQeFp3ACHMYCw/s640/blogger-image--12689168.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-hOdhybNgV-A/Wf4zNTpTpxI/AAAAAAAABwY/SvrbzAD6bjA6uJtAQISivZL4xtoQeFp3ACHMYCw/s640/blogger-image--12689168.jpg"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Little House Needleworks October - This finished piece was "framed" with a 7x7 wood box.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-RPUFJt-rfYI/Wf4zPOxjwlI/AAAAAAAABwc/p0SAI1ooC60ZMoQ-XnaniU41vfDPmDG7gCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image-1881532729.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-RPUFJt-rfYI/Wf4zPOxjwlI/AAAAAAAABwc/p0SAI1ooC60ZMoQ-XnaniU41vfDPmDG7gCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image-1881532729.jpg"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
With these finishes behind me, I decided to work on some WIPs for November FNwF. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
A friend gave me this cute pattern that has a wood pumpkin "frame" and buttons for finishing. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-G8yZGcZMyds/Wf4zLlK-NrI/AAAAAAAABwU/8L84tT4egxYsWYwtgJ7rDDV-3PsCKgNfgCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image-965946077.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-G8yZGcZMyds/Wf4zLlK-NrI/AAAAAAAABwU/8L84tT4egxYsWYwtgJ7rDDV-3PsCKgNfgCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image-965946077.jpg"></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
There really isn't a whole lot of stitching. Here is my progress on this piece....</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-rXJl1OqktbY/Wf4_oAv2kWI/AAAAAAAABw0/4jsCyZ6RKjIza1HlRb2QpKBKiQGxQCiIACHMYCw/s640/blogger-image-342710923.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-rXJl1OqktbY/Wf4_oAv2kWI/AAAAAAAABw0/4jsCyZ6RKjIza1HlRb2QpKBKiQGxQCiIACHMYCw/s640/blogger-image-342710923.jpg"></a></div>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
The kit also includes a strip of floral cotton fabric that goes at the bottom of the stitched area. I'm stitching this on 36 ct linen using 1 strand of DMC and Sampler Threads.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I'm also working on this cute piece by La-D-Da - Big Red House.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-7TDXFNLf-u8/Wf4_pz32YbI/AAAAAAAABw4/RugBAmICckgQ4iXfevLNpiU9n6MProhPACHMYCw/s640/blogger-image-1040551834.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-7TDXFNLf-u8/Wf4_pz32YbI/AAAAAAAABw4/RugBAmICckgQ4iXfevLNpiU9n6MProhPACHMYCw/s640/blogger-image-1040551834.jpg"></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><br></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><div class="separator" style="clear: both;"><a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-423b1d4OzYc/Wf5D5gr3qbI/AAAAAAAABxE/iIdkqiDad5QvkAeMw4V6XP6UPyqlBIoiwCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image--2138977449.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-423b1d4OzYc/Wf5D5gr3qbI/AAAAAAAABxE/iIdkqiDad5QvkAeMw4V6XP6UPyqlBIoiwCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image--2138977449.jpg"></a></div><br></div>
<br>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I actually won the pattern (it is signed by Lori M.) several years ago from Norden Crafts' Facebook page. I had put the pattern away, totally forgetting about it......that is until the "memory" popped up in my FB feed. I had posted a photo of the pattern after I won. When I saw the photo, I decided it was time to start stitching it! I had to search through my ever-growing stash to find the pattern! I'm stitching it on 32 ct Straw linen from Weeks Dye Works using most of the called for sampler threads. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<span style="font-family: "helvetica neue light" , , "helvetica" , "arial" , sans-serif;">Hopefully I will have a finish to post at December FNwF. I am also working on some Christmas things but those will have to wait until January FNwF to "reveal" those so not to spoil any surprises. </span></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Alrighty........what are you stitching?</div>
<br>

The last FNwF that I "attended" was July. I was working on a Plum Street Sampler piece then. I have since finished it. Let me show you a picture before I tell you what I am working on for September FNwF.<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
Plum Street Samplers 'Fraktur Friends'</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ST8b3VBvpkY/WatHZ9HRVLI/AAAAAAAABvk/S-_4vSzC-ewhEVtkR6OhoM4B8FxJMBl7gCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image-803285366.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ST8b3VBvpkY/WatHZ9HRVLI/AAAAAAAABvk/S-_4vSzC-ewhEVtkR6OhoM4B8FxJMBl7gCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image-803285366.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
I love the way it turned out. Not sure if I am going to frame it. I may finish it into a pin cushion.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Now, let me tell you a little about my current project. I joined a Little House Needleworks/Country Cottage Needleworks Autumn-Themed SAL on Facebook. Our start date for the SAL was September 1. Here is the project that I've chosen for the SAL.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8RyfiQvQY0Q/WatHbUbfhlI/AAAAAAAABvo/O911Fn-hkA4jG_XCRBvlDB9vRDvJyAe1wCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image-1251303413.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8RyfiQvQY0Q/WatHbUbfhlI/AAAAAAAABvo/O911Fn-hkA4jG_XCRBvlDB9vRDvJyAe1wCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image-1251303413.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
This has been in my stash for a number of years. How convenient for the SAL to begin on the same day as September FNwF! Here is my progress so far..........</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<a href="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-hz8zXJFOdt8/WatHYMx--_I/AAAAAAAABvg/IiwOaRd41UAkoq-rqlsFjyJuccXUnfKcgCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image--1442510577.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-hz8zXJFOdt8/WatHYMx--_I/AAAAAAAABvg/IiwOaRd41UAkoq-rqlsFjyJuccXUnfKcgCHMYCw/s640/blogger-image--1442510577.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
Hopefully by the time October FNwF rolls around I will be able to show this as a "completed" project. If I get this project stitch fairly quickly, I plan on doing a 2nd fall-themed project since the SAL will not end until November 1.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
How about you? Got any fall-themed projects going on?</div>
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both;">

On the first Friday night of each month, Cheryl over at <a href="https://stitchingcubbyhole.blogspot.com/">Gone Stitching</a> invites crafters of all kinds (cross stitch, quilting, needlepoint, etc) to a stitch 'n chat. She calls it Friday Night with Friends. Sounded like fun so I signed up. Did I mention that Cheryl lives in Australia? Did I mention that I did not have to make the 13-14 hour flight to Australia to attend this event? You guessed it......a virtual gathering of crafters. I actually had plans on Friday night so my stitching happened during the day. Here are some photos of what I worked on......<br />
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
This piece has been a WIP for at least a year. I stitched the border and '1808' shortly after getting the pattern and then abandoned it. I happened across it a few weeks ago and decided that I needed to move it to my "actively stitching" pile. </div>

</div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
<br /></div>
<div>
And then.....drumroll, please......I have a finish to show you. Heartstring Samplery's Stars & Stripes Forever Stocking Ornament #3. Another exclusive design....this time for Dyeing to Stitch 2017 Ladies Prim Society. It is stitched on 35 ct linen. I stitched it using the called-for threads.....including silver and gold metallics. I do not like stitching with metallics but I must say that it did make the fireworks "pop"! </div>

First is a photo of the stitched front and the cute cotton backing.</div>
