Guess It's Time to Start Thinking About Christmas Cards!

At the beginning of 2013 I had a goal to make one Christmas card each week.  Had I actually *kept* that goal, I would have lots of handmade Christmas cards ready to send out next month.  I think I kept up with my goal for one week.  So, guess what I'm going to be working on for the next few weeks!

PaperCrafts magazine had a cute Christmas card posted on their Facebook wall today.  I tweaked the design a little and came up with this card.

Supplies used:
Red cardstock - Stampin Up Riding Hood Red (same color ink also)
White cardstock - stash
Green paper - Authentique 6x6 Bundle - Festive Collection
Embossing folder - Stampin Up Snow Burst
Striped Ribbon - Stampin' Up Riding Hood Red
Labels Die Cuts - Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Four
Sentiment - Inkadoo Holiday Expressions stamp set (which I found last year at T.J. Maxx for $1.49...set of 5 Christmas sentiments)

Christmas is coming!  Better get your craft on NOW!

Welcome to November!

Here's a cross-stitch piece that I did several years ago.  I did one for each month of the year.   They hang on the mirror of an old washstand that is in our living room.  I switch them out each month; however sometimes it is mid-month before i remember to do so!  Guess I'm on the ball this month!

You can also see a little bit of one of the vintage cotton towels (did I mention that I collect vintage cotton towels....and also vintage linen towels) that hangs on the washstand too.  Maybe I'll have to do a post soon with some of my favorite vintage towels.

Mission Accomplished!

The title to this blog post has two meanings.  The first is that I actually did it......I blogged every day this month. That is a big accomplishment seeing that the last blog post prior to October 1 was June 1.  Hopefully I can keep up with this daily blog schedule.  The holidays are coming up and it does get busy so I may miss a day or two along the way but maybe entire months won't go by without a post.

Now, the second meaning to today's blog title - I finished the cross-stitch project that I blogged about last week.  The hardest part for me was doing the blanket stitch around the felt leaf.  While a blanket stitch is an easy stitch, it is something that I have not done much of so it was slow going for me.

I love the way it turned out.  I currently have the pillow stuffed with fiberfill until I can get to Joann's Crafts to get a 12x12 pillow form.

Hope you likey!  Oh, one more thing.......Happy Halloween!
