Spring!

The view outside my window tells me that Spring is definitely here to stay.  The daffodils bloomed several weeks ago and now iris, columbine and lilac are donning their colorful spring attire.  One of my favorite things about spring is seeing (and in the case of lilac.....smelling) the spring flowers.

I just finished a card to enter into the Fresh Squeezed Stamps Squeeze-A-Palooza card challenge #7.  The theme is "Spring".  My card uses two different Fresh Squeezed Stamp sets:  Happy Hexagons and Tickle My Fancy.

Now......here is where YOU enter the picture.  Take a quick stroll over to the Fresh Squeezed Stamps blog and vote for my card.  You can get there real quick by clicking on this link.  Scroll to the botton of the blog post to see the cards that have been entered in the challenge.  My card is number 10.  Just click on the "like" button underneath.  AND WHILE YOU ARE THERE....my bestest crafting buddy, Cheryl, has also entered a card (her card is #6....Spring Lanterns) so vote for her card too!

There will be 2 (and possibly 3) winners so keep your fingers crossed for Cheryl and me!

Her Name is Eloise

My oldest nephew and his wife recently became new parents.......

  Her name is Eloise......

Isn't she adorable???????  She looks just like my nephew - or at least I think her pictures look just like baby pictures of my nephew.  I have not had the opportunity yet to see her in person.

I needed an "excuse" :o) to use a new stamp and what better excuse but to celebrate the birth of a new baby.  Here is what I ended up with....

Yes, I know the image isn't of a baby but I've heard that they grow up fast so......  Anyhoo, the little girl image just looks like an Eloise - doesn't she?

And since I made this card using my new Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp "Spring Friends", I figured I should go ahead and enter it in this week's "Anything Goes" challenge that Kraftin' Kimmie is having.

Supplies used:

pink and green cardstock - Bazzill Basics Paper
stamped image - Spring Friends (retired) by Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps
alphabet stickers - Studio Calico
white cardstock and green "bling" - stash

I added color to the image using my Martha Stewart colored pencils.  I know that lots of papercrafters prefer markers (such as Copic) but I really like the look of colored pencils and that is what I use most of the time when I add color to the images.

So, let's all give Eloise a warm welcome......watch out world......here SHE comes!
