These Have Been Keeping Me Busy!

Here are some pictures of cards that I've made over that past 2-3 weeks.  To save time (which will allow me to get back to crafting), I'm not going to list supplies for each card.  If there is one that intrigues you and you would like to ask about a particular paper, stamp, embellishment, etc, just email me or leave a comment and I'll get back with you.  I still have more photos to post.........maybe tomorrow!

A Time to Celebrate

I've been making quite a few cards during the past 2 weeks; however, I've been too busy to stop and blog about them.  Here is a picture of a birthday card I made earlier this week:

The brown patterned paper is from Authentique's Journey Collection.  I got the 6x6 bundle pad at Archiver's on Tuesday.  The main colors in the Journey Collection are brown, blue, and gray.  I cut the brown patterned paper slightly smaller than my 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 blue card.  A cream colored ribbon was attached to the bottom of the brown paper which was then adhered to the blue cardstock.

I stamped the "time to....." stamp (from the Close to my Heart "You & Me" stamp set) onto some light blue patterned paper from the Authentique Journey Collection, cut around the stamped area and used foam dimentionals to adhere it to the brown paper.   To finish out the front of the card, I adhered 4 brown "pearls" (2 of 2 different sizes) to the ribbon.

Inside (sorry, no pic) I stamped "celebrate!" in black ink.  I used this as a birthday card but the sentiments would also work for anniversary, retirement or wedding.

Valentines

A quick post just to show a couple of Valentine cards that I made.

Sentiment on the front "Love is in the air"

Sentiment on front of card "sending all my love".  I have stamped a row of hearts on the front of the card also....they are a little difficult to see in the photo since I used red ink to stamp them on the red cardstock.

Hope you got all your Valentines delivered!!!  Time to start working on Easter cards now....so get your craft on!

Birthday card #1

I have been "commissioned" by a friend to make a birthday card for her friend's 85th birthday.  The only other "clues" about the birthday girl that I've been given is that she is an attractive lady who has kept up her appearance, still very outgoing, and a former Miss/Mrs. Alabama.  So, I figure I need to come up with something classy AND classic.  I have 3 card ideas and have finished putting together the first of the three.

I found the layout for this card in a PaperCrafts book titled "The Best of Card Creations".  Before I get into the supplies, let me post the picture of the card I made..............

First, I glued the green leafy print to the green cardstock.  The green leafy print is Secret Garden from the Graphic 45 Botanicabella Collection.  I bought the 12x12 paper pad at Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago during their 50% off sale (woo hoo)!  The Botanicabella Collection has some GREAT papers in it.  I am a huge fan of just about everything that Graphic 45 makes!  But anyway I digress - back to the card.....Before glueing the leafy print to the green cardstock, I snipped the corners.  A light green grosgrain ribbon was placed on the bottom half of the leafy print and adhered to the back of the green cardstock.  A bow was also added to the front.  I made a 5 1/4 x 4 3/4 card from "kraft paper brown" cardstock.  The green cardstock panel was attached to the card front.

I cut out a 2 1/2" square piece of white cardstock.  A flower image from Stampin' Up Faith in Nature stamp set (hostess) was used on the white cardstock along with the words "it's your day" from PapertreyInk Tag-Its #10 stamp set. (another side note.....I'm a fairly new PaperTreyInk customer - I *love* their stamps and their prices are very reasonable.)  I rounded the corners of the stamped piece and adhered it to a 2 3/4" square piece of green cardstock.  I also rounded the corners of the green cardstock and adhered to front of card using foam tape to add dimension.  Oh, I also inked around the edge of the white cardstock.  The stamped image, words and edges were all done using Stampin' Up Pear Pizazz ink.

I also need to thank Cheryl for giving me her round corner punch (she has another one that she uses).  It really came in handy for this card!

So............do ya like???
