Happy {Funny} Birthday

Here is a funny birthday card that I made a friend who is turning 59 this month....

It is hard to see but the arrow is pointing to the square with the number '59'.

Several months ago I bought a package of Jenni Bowlin mini papers (4" square).  As I was looking thru my supplies last night to create my friend's birthday card, I happened to flip thru the pack of mini papers.  The one with numbers caught my eye.  I immediately looked to see if her age was one of the numbers on the paper (it was!).

It took just a few minutes to figure out exactly what I wanted the card to "say".  I thought about those directories at shopping malls....first you find the "You Are Here" marker and then you locate the ONE store that you are interested in visiting....which usually ends up being on the opposite end of the mall!

Just in case my friend has forgotten (or has CHOSEN to forget) how old she is, the "directory" on the front of the card will show her just where she is!   BTW, I hope she still calls me her friend after getting this card ;o)

This card was super quick and easy to assemble.  The 4" square printed paper was adhered to a slightly larger piece of blue cardstock which was adhered to an even slighly larger red cardstock base.  The "arrow" sticky note was in my stash of office supplies.  (An arrow rubber stamp would also work.)  I punched a small circle (1/2") from the blue cardstock and printed "you are here" using my Pentel Gel "white" pen.  I used a foam dimensional to adhere the circle.  A birthday greeting was stamped inside the card.

There you go....quick and easy!  I have some sheets of the mini paper left so I can make several more birthday cards for friends who may be reaching an age where they are "forgetting" how old they are!  Do *you* have a birthday coming up soon????

Supplies used: Blue and red cardstock - Bazzill Basics paper
